A Season of Growth and Togetherness

The varsity Braves battled for hours solid against New London. In the end, it was 94-68. A season‘s end for Montezuma football.
In the first quarter, New London was agressive. But a huge second quarter brought the score within eight points proving that the Braves were still in the fight.

Halftime included flag football and the best band in the land.

After the half, Montezuma continued to work through until the last ticks of the clock with New London eventually pulling away in the fourth quarter.
According to Quikstats, sophomore, Eddie Burgess currently leads the state (all schools) in football for passing yards. He leads with 2914 yards. He is also tied for the highest quarterback ranking. What an athlete!

Junior, Cole Watts is ranked 4th in the state (all schools) for receiving yards at 1116 yards and fellow junior, Trey Shearer is 9th with 1006 yards. That’s a big deal that the Braves have two players that have over 1000 yards receiving.
Based on those statistics the future of Montezuma football is looking bright and this season was just the start.
Congrats to the coaching staff and the senior boys for all of your work on and off the field for the Braves.
