Bravettes Got the Job Done

It was a night of volleyball for Montezuma junior high and high school. Fresh-Soph, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Bravettes got the job done on Thursday against BGM, each coming away with wins.

JV won in 2.

Varsity won in 3. In their third game, BGM looked like they could attempt a comeback, but the Bravettes didn’t let up their momentum and the final score was 25-15.

Junior, Dylan Holland was one to watch. She has continuously been improving. Being the tallest of the Bravettes, she spends a lot of quality time at the net. She had some power hits at the Bears and some great blocks off of theirs.

Other standouts versus BGM were seniors Maddy McKeag and Wavy Roorda. McKeag’s quick feet and quick reactions, she is able to help out a lot defensively for her team. Roorda excelled with her serving in the game. She went 18 for 21 and had three aces. She also does well setting up her teammates and led the team in assists.

Sophomore, Korinn Kehoe has seen more time on the varsity court lately. A big reason: her power and ball placement at the net. She had five kills against BGM.

Catch the Bravettes next at North Mahaska on Monday, September 30th.
