“Your 2019 Homecoming King and Queen are...”
Zach Templeton and Waverly Roorda!
Congratulations to all who were a part of the homecoming court and another big congratulations to the new king and queen of Montezuma homecoming.
Court included: Ben Jorgenson, Shelby Conger, Caymen DeJong, Chloe Latchum, Brody Chidester, Maddy McKeag, Gabe Davis, Wavy Roorda, Zach Templeton, Rachel Teumer, Brayden Arendt, and Carissa Van Zee.
The crowning of royalty took place at Braves Night, on the eve of the big homecoming football game. Braves Night included a meal and a sort of pep rally before the pep rally. All fall coaches got up and talked about their teams and gave a good luck to the football team.
2007 Montezuma graduate, PJ Mahaffey was this year’s guest speaker and he talked on the subject of “If I could turn back time”. Ending with a standing ovation, he shared stories of his love with the school and memories that were made there. It was the overall message that was most impactful, though. “If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t”, said Mahaffey. He urged the current students and community of the importance to not think or worry about turning back time, but to live it up now.
Come out and support the Braves in their game against WACO Friday, September 20th with a 7PM kickoff!
